Chaussures Semy, 50 and
as passionate as ever!

Summer 1971, Semy opens its doors on Plaza St-Hubert. The owner and visionary, Mr. Di Staulo wanted to offer his future clients a collection of high-end Italian shoes that would impress and dazzle.

He communicated his passion to his daughter Natalie who would take the reins a few years later. The boutique, blessed with a faithful following, has continued to evolve ever since. In sync with the times, Natalie developed a line of high-end everyday shoes for the stylish working woman. She would then go on to create a line of exclusive handbags to reflect her clients’ personality. Pierre, on the other hand, recognized the pressing need of his clients for small sizes. Years later he would go on to create a line of men’s shoes.

It wasn’t always easy, though. The boutique survived two major renovations to the Plaza. The first one in 1984, the second in 2021 as the whole world faced a pandemic. This latest hurdle only served to strengthen Semy’s resolve, and spear headed the creation of its website and presence on social media.

This desire to continuously reinvent ourselves is fuelled by our amazing clients who have remained faithful for five decades now. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives, your happiness and sorrows your weddings, proms and celebrations. We are blessed with the possibility of providing wedding shoes for the granddaughter of an original client and seeing the joy in their eyes.

A heart felt thank you to our amazing team of loyal employees who have been with us through thick and thin. A very special thought to Philip who has been with us for 40 years. Happy very much deserved retirement, Phil. We also take this opportunity to thank our suppliers and artisans who bring our vision to life and who are the pillars on which our reputation is built.
